If you’re running a more secure event, you will be able to specify in the event settings whether you want to disable audio, video, or chat [in any combination] for that particular event.
In the most secure configuration when everything is disabled, interpreters can communicate only through preprogrammed quick messages.
Note: disabling audio, and video or chat in the event settings by the account administrator/user is different from disabling audio and video by the interpreter in the interpreter console. In a regular event, interpreters can disable and reenable their video and audio at any time. They cannot disable the chat.
If the account administrator/user disables audio and video or chat, interpreters will not be able to reenable it. They will receive “audio/video/chat are disabled for this event”.
While running an event with quick messages only is not a recommended configuration, it may be used if required for example for handover.
Assuming that audio between interpreters is the most “sensitive” information, disabling audio and keeping chat and video on is a reasonable security option.
