Although you are able to disable manual chimes, we do not recommend it because you boothmates and other participants may need to reach you in an emergency.

As an active interpreter all you need to do is to interpret. If there is an emergency your colleagues will send you a chime to attract your attention to the chat. If you find the chime too loud you may always modify its’ volume.

However if you for example muted you boothmates and do not follow the chat when you are interpreting, sending you a manual chime would be the only quick way to contact you. If you disable your chimes in that case, there is going to be no quick way to contact you immediately.
